2014 BC Summer Games leaves $65,000 legacy in Nanaimo

The 2014 BC Summer Games in Nanaimo left behind a $65,000 Legacy Fund.

On Wednesday, the Nanaimo Summer Games Host Society revealed where that money is going.

Vice President Bruce Hunter says the Legacy Fund speaks to the overall success of the games in Nanaimo.

Hunter says $30,000 is going to the Nanaimo Foundation to set up 2 scholarships for students pursuing post-secondary education.

$20,000 is going to the City of Nanaimo to install a score clock at Merle Logan Field, and $15,000 will go towards purchasing a portable stage that can be used for a variety of community events.
