Officials with the Town of Gibsons say Vancouver Coastal Health is open to a return to a non-chlorinated water system, but the Town will have to make some improvements.
VCH imposed mandatory chlorination in the wake of e-coli contamination that got into the system in June.
The Town says many of the VCH requirements for ending chlorination in Zones 1 and 2 have already been met, but Council will have to decide if it wants to spend money to meet the others.
They’ll get a look at some of the costs and other details at a committee meeting September 30th.
