Local RCMP detachments hoping for a quiet Hallowe'en, but ready for a busy one

A lot of excited kids, and enthusiastic adults, are doing their final costume fittings and hoping for good weather tomorrow.

Area RCMP detachments are getting ready too. Constable Garry O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP says because Hallowe’en is on a Friday, they expect to be busier.

Nanaimo is one of several area municipalities with strict fireworks bylaws. Sechelt and Gibsons also have bylaws.

Constable Harrison Mohr speaks for Sunshine Coast RCMP.

Both Sunshine Coast and Nanaimo RCMP plan to have extra patrols out tomorrow, and they’re reminding people to call in if they see anything suspicious or dangerous.
