Martin Mars petition ready for delivery to premier

The man behind a petition to get the Martin Mars water bomber back on the job is headed to West Kelowna, to deliver it to Premier Christy Clark’s constituency office.
Chris Alemany says there more than 18-thousand signatures on the version he’ll take to Kelowna, but the online petition remained open until noon Thursday.
Although he wants to see the Vancouver Island-based aircraft return this season, Alemany says he’d be just as happy if his campaign leads to a contract for 2015 and beyond.
Yesterday the province put out a “Fact Sheet” on the air tanker fleet, saying they’ve brought on four new amphibious planes that are more flexible.
The government also claims they offered Coulson Aviation a “call when needed” contract this season, but didn’t get a response.
