The District of Sechelt says it’s taking a major step in its relationship with the Sechelt First Nation.
Council has passed an “Act of Recognition”, and yesterday Sechelt Mayor John Henderson and Sechelt Nation Chief Calvin Craigan signed the resolution.
Henderson says the name very much sums it up — the resolution is about recognition and acknowledgement.
Craigan says he appreciates the District’s efforts and looks forward to working closely with the municipalit to benefit all Sechelt in the future.
