GP for Me survey launches on Sunshine Coast

Family doctors on the Sunshine Coast are hoping to hear from residents as they work to improve primary care in the area.
They’ve launched a survey as part of a province wide effort called “A GP for Me”.  The basic goal is to make sure anyone who wants to have a family doctor, does.
Dr. Jane Bishop is the physician lead for the project on the Sunshine Coast.  She says getting a strong response to the survey is going to be key to making changes that actually make a difference.
Bishop adds that while there won’t be an instant solution for everyone, hopefully over time the initiative will help increase access to a family physician. “A GP for Me is an opportunity for us to improve health outcomes for patients by first getting a better understanding of gaps in the system, and then working with other community health care partners to begin closing these gaps,” she says.
A GP for Me is already well underway in the Nanaimo and Oceanside areas and continues to roll out through the rest of the province.
